More Than 30 Years Of Dance Music In The Mix!

DJ Deep-T aka Thomas Pudell has been a DJ for around twenty years now and a music lover for his whole life. Born in 1967 he started listening to the record collection of his father at a very young age. These classical jazz and Motown Records lay the foundation for the deep love for quality dance music he has today. As a teenager he started doing first DJ Gigs on school parties in his hometown. Pretty soon he got first gigs and residencies in local clubs. The year 1991 was a turning point in his life: when he visited the legendary "Weekender Club" in Southport, England, he first saw DJs like Tony Humphries and 'Little' Louie Vega. Hearing these legends mixing a wide range of soulful / jazzy / tribal house music made Deep-T's love for house music even stronger and so his style evolved from a more freestyle and jazzy one to the housier side of things. But even today he uses his rich musical background to mix the freshest house grooves with the finest tunes from 30 years of dance history.

After living and working in Berlin for several years, the music lover was offered a position at one of europes leading recordstores: Underground Solution in Hamburg. He quickly moved over to the connected Distribution Company - Word And Sound - where he was responsible for the worldwide export of labels such Pokerflat,Dessous,Muschihaus,Knee Deep and many more.Beside this he started to study audio engineering at the SAE/Hamburg.

On the weekends he follows his strong passion for DJ’ing in clubs all over germany and europe. The countless gigs and residencies he did over the past years -e.g. Kiss FM (Berlin), Radio Sphére (Strasbourg), Southport FM (UK),NRJ (Dresden). Club bookings like at 90° (Berlin), Globus/Tresor (Berlin), Dschungel (Berlin), GMF @ WMF (Berlin), Schwarzen Rabe (Berlin), Love Parade 2000 (Berlin), Betty Ford Klinik / Große Freiheit (Hamburg), Kontor (Hamburg), GUM Club (Hamburg), Club Venial (Valencia,Spain), Club Melusina (Luxembourg), U4 (Vienna, Austria), King Kamehameha (Frankfurt/Main), Mach1 (Nürnberg) or Gleis1 (Kassel), etc pepe- saw him spinning with the likes of Bob Sinclar,Ian Pooley,'Naughty Moscatello,Digitalism, Boris Dlugosch, Tiefschwarz,Kid Alex,Phil Fuldner and Dimitri From Paris, amongst many, many others.. Deep-T´s approach to DJ’ing is a very balanced one. While there are many so-called “artists” which only drop the current top hits, making simple juke boxes out of themselves, as well as a lot of guys who just focus on their own egos, completely ignoring the reactions of the dance floor, Thomas tries to entertain the people as well as educate them. In other words: give the dancers what they want, but always take them one step further! To achieve this, Deep-T combines all different styles of house and electronic dance music to create a varied but homogenic mixture with the intention to make the floor go wild. Thomas loves to give his sets a special touch by DJing on three turntables, adding short vocal samples from one record while the other one is playing, or doing other tricks in the tradition of legendary DJs like Larry Levan.

As the music lover feels the need to express himself and his art not only at the decks, the past years have also seen him entering the world of production. At the moment he works with producers in Berlin and Hamburg to supply the international house community with his blend of quality house music. Therefor he has founded an own label: "Mindbase Recordings". The first release "Our Music E.P." features three tracks of soulful music and had to be be found in the charts of some of germany´s leading DJs.He has also done remixes for Mary J. Blige's "Dance with me" MCA / Universalmusic, Gadjo's "So many Times" Muschihaus/ Subliminal/ Universalmusic, Raul Paz "La Mulata" Ministry Of Sound Germany,to name a few - plus many own Tracks on different Labels like Housemedication,Freeport, UCA,Hott,Edel,... At the Moment you'll be able to find his remixes for Alexi Delano & Vincenzos' "Against The Wall" on WasNotWorthit and the much talked about Paper Street Soap Company " Bill's Land" on Brickhouse - already charted by Boris Dlugosch - in the crates of better Recordstores.

Today, Deep-T can look back on a life filled with music and a steadily growing career in the dance music scene. A career that certainly has not yet reached its peak!
